Properties: Colorless, very hygroscopic mass. Marketed only as a slightly yellowish, syrupy liq. d 1.14-1.18. Very sol in water, alcohol; sol in chloroform, glycerol. Insol in ether.

Use: Antiseptic, disinfectant esp for surgical instruments.
