摘要:Alkylaromatic compounds may be synthesized by reacting an aromatic compound with an alkylating agent comprising a mixture of gases, including carbon monoxide and hydrogen at alkylation conditions in the presence of a dual-function-catalyst. The catalyst system which is employed for this reaction will comprise (1) a composite of oxides of copper and chromium and (2) an aluminosilicate which may be either in crystalline or amorphous form.

摘要:A method is provided for the direct synthesis by living cationic polymerization of novel polymeric materials functionalized with desirable nitrogen-containing functional groups such as terminal azido, cyano, carbonylamino, cyanato, thiocyanato or thiocarbonylamino groups. Polymerization and functionalization occur in a substantially simultaneous manner. All necessary reactants for the functionalization are present when polymerization is initiated. The nitrogen-containing functional group is provided as a part of a molecule having a release moiety which is preferably resonance stabilized or a tertiary alkyl type and which acts to aid the nitrogen-containing species in functioning as a leaving group.

摘要:The present invention relates to methods for inhibiting sebaceous gland activity in mammalian skin comprising administration of a topical composition comprising dehydroacetic acid or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and a dermatologically-acceptable carrier. The present invention also relates to methods and topical compositions further comprising agents which regulate the oily and/or shiny appearance of skin, and agents which treat acne and related skin disorders in mammalian skin and scalp. Methods of reducing sebum synthesis with the use of dehydroacetic acid, methods of regulating the oily and/or shiny appearance of skin, and methods of treating acne and other skin disorders are also encompassed by the present invention.
