摘要:The invention relates to a process for converting an alkaline-earth metal chloride to at least one salt chosen from the tungstates and molybdates of this metal, which comprises the reaction of the alkaline-earth metal chloride with at least one precursor of tungsten or of molybdenum chosen from tungsten oxides, molybdenum oxides, tungstates and molybdates, this reaction being carried out in a solvent constituted by KCl or by an LiCl/KCl mixture and at a temperature at least equal to the melting point of this solvent. Applications: synthesis of alkaline-earth metal tungstates and molybdates, extraction of alkaline-earth metals from media in which they are found in the form of chlorides, recovery of alkaline-earth fission products from a salt flux in the context of the reprocessing of a spent nuclear fuel in molten chloride media, etc.

标题 :Hydrocarbon cracking in a regenerable molten media
发明人:DUGAN J; HIGGINS J; SALVA J

摘要:Hydrocarbon feedstocks are cracked at elevated temperatures in a regenerable molten media comprising a glassforming oxide, such as an oxide of boron, in combination with an alkali or alkaline earth metal oxide or hydroxide including mixtures thereof, to produce high yields of light olefins which olefins such as ethylene are useful in the synthesis of polymers and other valuable chemicals. The carbonaceous materials, such as coke, which are formed and suspended in the molten media during the cracking operation are gasified by contacting said carbonaceous materials with a gaseous stream containing oxygen, such as air, steam or carbon dioxide at temperatures of from about above the melting point of said medium to about 3,000*F. in order to regenerate the melt. Preferably, the mole ratio of the alkkali alkali alkaline earth metal oxide and/or hydroxide, expressed as the oxide thereof, to the glass-forming oxide in the melt is maintained in the range of at least about 1 in order to significantly increase the gasification rate of the carbonaceous materials which are suspended in the molten media while at the same time suppressing the evolution of sulfur oxides from the gasification zone when the hydrocarbon feedstock contains sulfur and when a gaseous stream containing oxygen is employed as the gasifying reagent.

摘要:Hydrocarbon feedstocks, preferably heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks containing sulfur, are cracked at elevated temperatures in a novel regenerable alkali metal carbonate molten medium containing a glass-forming oxide, such as an oxide of boron, to produce high yields of light olefins such as ethylene, which olefins are useful in the synthesis of polymers and other valuable chemicals. The carbonaceous materials, i.e. coke, which are formed and dispersed in the molten medium during the cracking operation are gasified by contacting a portion of said carbonaceous materials with a gaseous stream containing oxygen, steam or carbon dioxide at temperatures of from about above the melting point of said medium to about 3000.degree.F. in order to regenerate the melt. Preferably, the amount of glass-forming oxide expressed as the oxide thereof, present in the alkali-metal carbonate melt is maintained in the range of from about 0.1 to about 25 weight percent based on the total weight of the molten medium in order to increase the overall dispersion of the carbonaceous materials which are formed in the molten medium during the cracking reaction.

摘要:Hydrocarbon feedstocks are cracked at elevated temperatures in a regenerable molten media comprising an oxide of phosphorus, such as phosphorus pentoxide, in combination with a critically defined amount of an alkali or alkaline earth metal oxide or hydroxide including mixtures thereof, to produce high yeilds of light olefins, which olefins such as ethylene are useful in the synthesis of polymers and other valuable chemicals. When the mole ratio of the alkali and alakline earth metal oxide or hydroxide expressed as the oxide thereof to the glass-forming oxide in the melt is maintained in the range of at least about 1, and preferably in the range of from about 1 to about 3, the gasification rate of the carbonaceous materials which are suspended in the molten media is significantly increased while at the same time suppressing the evolution of sulfur oxides from the gasification zone when the hydrocarbon feedstock contains sulfur and when a gaseous stream containing oxygen is employed as the gasifying reagent.
