摘要:A tetradendate amide based macrocyclic ligand and its Fe(III) complex which act as activators of hydrogen peroxide. The synthetic methodology to develop the ligands is new, simple and provides better yield for each step of the ligand synthesis. The Fe(III)-complexes and hydrogen peroxide together are can perform several environmentally benign oxidation reactions. Organic dye bleaching, bleaching of pulp and paper effluent and N-oxide synthesis may be performed using the newly developed catalyst and hydrogen peroxide. Alcohol oxidation and alkene epoxidation may also be performed using the catalysts and hydrogen peroxide.

摘要:A new process, particularly simple, convenient and practical, for the direct synthesis of organometallic compounds of formula(I):wherein (ZR1m)n is a divalent group bridging A and A'; A and A' re independently -O-, -S-, or -N(R2)-, wherein R2 is hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl; M is a transition metal belonging to group 3, 4, 5, 6 or to the lanthanide or actinide groups; L is a monoanionic sigma ligand, such as alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl, optionally containing Si or Ge; L' is halogen or -OR3, R3 being an hydrocarbon radical; m is 0, 1 or 2; n is 1-8; p is 1-3; q is 0-2. Said process comprises reacting the ligand (H-A)(ZR1m)n(A'-H) with about 1 molar equivalent of ML's in the presence of about (2+p) molar equivalents of LjB or LMgL', wherein B is an alkaline or alkaline-earth metal, s ranges from 3 to 6, and j is 1 or 2.

摘要:Methods disclosed herein relate to generating silk nanoparticles with a low polydispersity index (PDI). Methods include adding a silk solution dropwise into a volatile solvent that is miscible with water, thereby forming a precipitate-bearing solution and applying shear forces to the precipitate-bearing solution for a length of time sufficient to achieve evaporation of at least 95% of the volatile solvent, thereby producing a population of silk fibroin nanoparticles in water having a polydispersity index (PDI) of 0.35 or less, including but not limited to, a PDI of 0.330 or less, 0.325 or less, 0.315 or less, 0.310 or less, 0.30 or less, 0.275 or less, 0.250 or less, 0.225 or less, or 0.200 or less. Parameters related to silk fibroin molecular weight, silk fibroin concentration, shear force application, and temperature may all be modified to achieve silk nanoparticles of a particular size exhibiting particular PDIs.
