摘要:A surfactant composition for use in glyphosate-containing herbicide formulations, includes from 5 to 50% by weight of one or more amphoteric surfactants, diluted in solvents derived from the process of synthesis thereof, wherein the surfactants have general formula (I)n nR 1 —(XR 2 ) m —N + (R 3 )(R 4 )—CH 2 —CH(R 5 )—COO −   (I)n nwherein R 1 is hydrogen or C 1-18 hydrocarbyl; each X is independently an ether, thioether, sulfoxide, ester, thioester or amide bond; each R 2 is independently a C 3-6 chain; m is a number from 0 to 8 such that the number of carbon atoms in R 1 —(XR 2 ) m is from 8 to 24; R 3 and R 4 are independently hydrogen or C 1-4 chains; R 5 is hydrogen or methyl. The surfactant composition is used to increase the agronomic efficacy of herbicide formulations containing a high concentration of glyphosate salts. Herbicide formulations including the surfactant composition and uses thereof are also provided.

The compounds of this invention and other phenylazo-phenyl compounds with an optionally substituted hydrocarbylsulfonyl group (R 1-- SO 2 --) on the diazo component radical in a position ortho to the azo group can be synthesized from the corresponding compounds having a halo atom or nitro group in this position by reaction with a compound of the formula H--SO 2 --R 1 or a salt thereof.

摘要:The invention relates to a process for preparing o-phenylenediamine. According to the invention 1,4-dichlorobenzene is nitrated to give 2,5-dichloro-nitrobenzene which is then reacted with an aqueous ammonium hydroxide solution and the 4-chloro-2-nitraniline obtained is subjected to catalytic hydrogenation to afford the end product which can thereafter be separated. n The process according to the invention can be accomplished with a total yield of about 90% related to the 1,4-dichlorobenzene starting compound. n o-Phenylenediamine is a valuable intermediate for instance in the synthesis of plant protecting agents and heat-resistant polymers.
