The invention involve the solid acid catalyst such as sulfated transition metal oxides namely nano-crystalline sulfated zirconia, sulfated titania; modified zeolites namely zeolite H-beta, H-Y, H-ZSM-5 and K-10 montmorillonite clay in a solvent free environment using salicylic acid and acetic anhydride with yield about 95% and high selectivity (100%). The solid acid catalysts can be recovered, regenerated and reused.
专利号:US-6372461-B1 优先权日:1998-09-18 标题 :Synthesis of vanillin from a carbon source 发明人:FROST JOHN W 权利人:DIRECTORS OPERATING MICHIGAN S 摘要:A bioengineered synthesis scheme for the production of vanillin from a carbon source is provided. The bioconversion methods of the present invention comprise the steps of microbe-catalyzed conversion of a carbon source to vanillic acid followed by enzyme-catalyzed reduction of the vanillic acid to produce vanillin. As shown in the synthesis scheme of FIG. 2, the microbe-catalyzed conversion step of the present invention requires five enzymes which are provided by a recombinant microbe. In a preferred embodiment, the recombinant microbe is Escherichia coli designed to cause dehydration of 3-dehydroshikimic acid and regioselective methylation of the resulting protocatechuic acid. The enzyme-catalyzed reduction step of the present invention comprises the reduction of vanillic acid to vanillin by aryl-aldehyde dehydrogenase.

The invention also provides novel compositions comprising at least one nitrosated NSAID, and at least one compound that donates, transfers or releases nitric oxide, elevates endogenous levels of endothelium-derived relaxing factor, stimulates endogenous synthesis of nitric oxide or is a substrate for nitric oxide synthase and/or at least one therapeutic agent. The invention also provides novel kits comprising at least one nitrosated NSAID, and, optionally, at least one nitric oxide donor and/or at least one therapeutic agent. The invention also provides methods for treating inflammation, pain and fever; for treating gastrointestinal disorders; for facilitating wound healing; for treating and/or preventing gastrointestinal, renal and/or respiratory toxicities resulting from the use of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory compounds; for treating inflammatory disease states and/or disorders; and for treating and/or preventing ophthalmic diseases and/or disorders.
