摘要:The invention provides new cephalosporin derivatives of the general formula, ##STR1## which are in the form of a bicyclooct-2-ene or bicyclooct-3-ene, in which formula R 1 is a radical of the general formula ##STR2## [in which R 5 is hydrogen, alkyl, vinyl, cyanomethyl, protected carboxyalkyl or a protective radical and R 6 is a protective radical] or an amino-protecting radical, R 2 is an acid-protecting radical and R° represents various organic radicals, or alternatively R 1 is an amino-protecting radical or various acyl radicals, R 2 is a protective radical and R° represents various organic radicals, and R 3 and R 4 are alkyl radicals optionally substituted by alkoxy or dialkylamino, or phenyl radicals, or --NR 3 R 4 forms a heterocyclic ring. These products are intermediates for the synthesis of cephalosporins having antibacterial activity.

摘要:New and useful cephem compounds derived from cephalosporin C are provided by this invention, which are valuable as intermediate for the synthesis of another bacteriocidally active cephem derivatives and which are readily extractable from its aqueous solution by means of an organic solvent and enable the cephalosporin C content in the aqueous fermentation broth filtrate to be recovered at an improved yield. Cephalosporin C present in the fermentation broth may be converted into the cephem compounds of this invention by reacting with a substituted chloroformate compound within said filtrate, and the cephem compounds so formed may then be extracted therefrom with an organic solvent. The cephem compounds of this invention further may be converted into a 7-acylamidocephalosporanic acid or 7-aminocephalosporanic acid through some successive reactions.

摘要:A 2'-halopenicillin compound is prepared from a penicillin-1-oxide compound by the action of an acid halide in the presence of a base. The product on heating rearranges to a 3-halo-3-methylcepham compound which itself gives a 3-methyl-3-cephem compound on further heating. A 2'-halopenicillin compound gives a 3-methyl-3-cephem compound on heating. The 2'-halopenicillin compounds, 3-halo-3-methylcepham compound and 3-methyl-3-cephem compounds are antibacterials which are also useful as intermediates for the synthesis of other penicillins and cephalosporins.
