Properties: Crystals from petr ether, mp 95-96°. Sublimes. Volatile with steam. Soly in water: one part in 5000. Soly at 15° in 100 parts of solvent: benzene, 14; toluene, 15; acetone, 73; diethyl ketone, 59; petr ether, 4; chloroform, 25; CCl4, 10.
Melting point: mp 95-96°
Use: Bacteriostat in soaps; mold inhibitor, preservative.
