Gadopiclenol CAS# 311772-46-0

Gadopiclenol is a next-generation, macrocyclic, gadolinium-based contrast agent (GBCA) with high relaxivity designed for MRI imaging. In preclinical studies, it exhibited approximately twice the r1 relaxivity of standard GBCAs (r1 ~11–12 mM⁻¹·s⁻¹ at 1.5 T in plasma), enabling stronger signal enhancement at lower doses. Animal studies demonstrated high kinetic stability and strong resistance to gadolinium release, reducing risks of tissue deposition. In rodent and primate models, gadopiclenol produced robust contrast enhancement in the brain, liver, and kidneys at half the dose of conventional GBCAs, while showing favorable safety and rapid renal clearance. These properties supported its clinical development.
