Rezafungin Acetate CAS# 1631754-41-0

Rezafungin acetate (CD101) is a next-generation echinocandin antifungal that inhibits fungal β-(1,3)-D-glucan synthase. In preclinical enzyme assays, it blocked glucan synthesis with IC₅₀ values in the low nanogram/mL range, comparable to or more potent than caspofungin. In vitro, rezafungin showed fungicidal activity against Candida spp. (including C. auris) and fungistatic activity against Aspergillus spp. with low MEC values. In neutropenic murine models of candidiasis and aspergillosis, intermittent once-weekly dosing produced significant reductions in fungal burden and improved survival. Pharmacokinetic studies demonstrated markedly prolonged half-life, high tissue distribution, and sustained drug exposure supporting once-weekly administration, with a safety profile similar to other echinocandins.
